5A MVP
Matt Emadi, Northridge, 6-5, Sr., G
Emadi became a target when he scored 23, 20 and 21 points in the first three games this year, and he handled it well, averaging 20.5 points a game - tops in Class 5A and seventh-best in the state. He also averaged 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals. He shot 84 percent from the foul line and scored his season-high 39 points in a 65-54 victory over Clearfield. Not only can he stick three-pointers (38), he can drive to the basket and score or draw fouls, and he can also pull up and hit the mid-range jumper. Last season he averaged 13.5 points a game and shot 79 percent from the foul line. Emadi has verbally committed to play basketball at Weber State.

He scored six points in the Rams' 46-44 victory over Lone Peak to win the Class 4A championship, but his two foul shots with 4.9 seconds left proved to be the difference.

"He was huge for us this year," first-year Snow Canyon coach James Brown said. "He led out. I never had to get after him in practice to work hard. He made sure people were doing what they were suppose to."
In the 59-54 victory over rival Pine View, he also had five rebounds, two steals and a block. This year, he scored 40 points twice and was held under double figures only once. He also led the Warriors with 71 steals and 31 blocks.

2A MVP
Travis Bunker, Beaver, 6-3, Sr., G
Thanks to hours of practice and growing three inches, Bunker went from Beaver's sixth man as a junior to the class MVP a year later.
"He's put in about 100 hours in the gym," Beaver coach Calvin Albrecht said. "His goal is to play basketball somewhere."
He averaged 16 points a game, six rebounds and 2.5 assists for the 2A state champions, shooting 88 percent from the foul line, drained 61 3-pointers (41.5) and hit 76 two-pointers (53.9).
Behind Bunker, and all-staters Matt Albrecht and Wes Marshall, the Beavers (22-3) won the Region 13 regular season title with a 10-0 record. Their only loss in their last 17 games was to Juab in the region tournament. One week later, Beaver exacted revenge with a 66-59 victory over Juab in the state title game.

1A MVP
Jake Reynolds, Waterford, 5-10, Sr., G
"He's fabulous and unbelievable," coach Reid Monson said. "I saw him last year and I gave the team to him and said 'you're our point guard.'"
In his junior year, he led the Ravens to the state championship game only to lose to Panguitch. This year, he led the Ravens to the Class 1A state title with a win over Rich. The win was the first-ever state championship by a 1A private school. Reynolds, a two-time first-team selection, averaged 12.5 points a game, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.5 rebounds. He also shot 54 percent from the field. He scored 18 points and had two 3-pointers in the title game.
