Sahar Fard pitched Mountain Ridge to a 12-2 win over Syracuse in Game 1 of the 6A Regionals best-of-3 series. The Sentinels scored four runs in the second inning and added another in the third before a seven-run fourth inning sealed the game. CJ Stewart and Avery Rawlins both went 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Mountain Ridge. Syracuse scored its only two runs in the fifth inning. Game 2 is set for Friday.
