Haylee Heaton pitched effectively, tallying six strikeouts, and her grand slam in the second inning propelled Kearns to a 16-1 victory over East in a nonregion matchup. Kearns seized control early, scoring twice in the first inning, and continued to widen the gap with a five-run second and a six-run third. East struggled at the plate, managing just one hit throughout the game. Sky Aguirre added two doubles for the Cougars, driving in six runs.
