Kearns relied on strong mid-game performances to win 11-6 over Roy in a nonregion game. Kearns broke open the game with a four-run second inning and added another four runs in the fourth. Roy rallied with five late-inning runs, including three in the seventh, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit. Kearns' H Heaton went 2 for 3 at the plate and recorded seven strikeouts on the mound.
