#3 West Jordan (22-4) scored early and often, putting up 5 runs in the 1st inning and scoring four runs in the fifth inning and three in the final inning to win 13-7 in game 1 of the 5A championship series against Salem Hills (27-4). Rita Tavita's performance on the mound, striking out seven batters, played a critical role in the Jaguars' victory. Despite Salem Hills' late attempt with five runs in the seventh inning, the SkyHawks could not overcome West Jordan's early lead.
