Game Details - Softball

The Royals earned a berth into the 5A state championship game with a win over Murray. McCauley Flint earned nine strikeouts. Flint took a walk in the sixth inning and then scored the go-ahead run when Meagan Parker hit a double. Teammate Bryce Mitchell brought Parker home with a home run to seal the win for Roy. Senior centerfielder Malia Campos scored Murray's only run and played outstanding defensively. In the fifth inning she stole what would have been Jordynn Barrera's second home run of the game when she dove over the fence to catch the ball. Murray will play Weber at 10:15 a.m. for a second chance at Roy and the 5A title.
