The Silver Wolves won another 1-0 decision against Region 1 rival Layton in the semifinal game of the 5A state tournament. Fremont pitcher f+bHaley Schumersf-b scored the game's only run on a passed ball after getting on base by walking. Schumers had 10 strike outs and Lancer pitcher f+bHaili Squiref-b struck out 11 batters. The win means the Silver Wolves will play for the 5A title, while the loss means Layton will have to play Bingham again at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the one-loss bracket. The winner of that game will play Fremont for the title.
