In their inaugural match, the Deseret Peak Golden Eagles pushed Hillcrest to the limit, ultimately falling 3-2 to the Huskies in a hard-fought contest. After Deseret Peak took the first set 25-18, Hillcrest responded with commanding 25-4 and 25-22 victories in the next two sets. The Golden Eagles rallied in the fourth set, winning 25-22 to force a decisive fifth set. Hillcrest held firm, capturing the final set 15-11 to secure the win in a tightly-contested nonregion match.
