Violett Taylor recorded 19 kills, while Kasey WIlson recorded 42 assists as No. 3 seed Rich outlasted No. 6 seed Monticello in a tight 1A quarterfinal game at UVU, 25-11, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23. Rich trailed by as many as five points midway through the third set, but coach Danelle Wadsen said the resiliency her team showed to rally and win that set was the best she's seen from her team all year. She credited Hannah Scott with sparking that comeback. "She came back in and stepped it back up and helped us out a lot out there," said Wadsen. Scott also finished with three aces for the Rebels. Rich will now advance to the 1A semifinals on Saturday to face No. 2 seed Tabiona, a team it beat twice during region play. "Tabiona will always be tough. We're just excited to play them," said Wadsen.
