The Vikings pulled off the upset of the tournament so far, beating the top-ranked Miners in five games to advance to the 5A state finals. Pleasant Grove bounced back from a weak first-game to gain momentum in the second. McKell Staheli played excellent defense, getting up several crucial digs down the stretch, while Kim Dahl led the team offensively with 21 kills and five aces. Delayne Daniel added 13 kills and Sydney Johnson tallied 33 assists in the win.
