The Red Devils were down most of the fourth game but made a huge comeback at the end to send the match against the No. 1 Colts into the fifth and deciding game. After they stole the momentum from the young Colts, they rode it all the way through game five, sealing the win and a trip to the semifinals early. "This was what we wanted this year, to have a chance at state, but we needed to get out of the first day. That was a lot of fun, but it was a lot of work," said Springville coach Wade Taylor. Lindsay Barker led the Red Devils with 17 kills, Taylor Steed added nine, and Kelsie Ainge served 33 points with three aces and no service errors. The Colts were led by sophomores Alexis Aalona, Alydia Fields and Mckenna Tait. Cottonwood fell into the fifth place bracket and plays at 9 am today, and the Red Devils play at 10:30 in the semis.
