The Falcons won one of the most exciting matches of the day that featured two of the best hitters in 5A. Cottonwood's f+bJennifer Johnsonf-b and Clearfield's f+bKate Robisonf-b led their teams both offensively and defensively, but in the end it was the Falcons who prevailed. "I can't take this emotion," said Clearfield coach f+bCamille Smithf-b wiping away tears. "It's tough (to defend the Colts). You've just got to let JJ...have her kills and cover the court as best you can. We definitely just got after it." Smith said Region 1's competitive play helped as only top-ranked Viewmont escaped league play without a loss. "Every match has been tight," she said. Robison finished with 18 kills, while Johnson led the Colts with 15.
