The Silver Wolves suffered a slow start against the suffocating Riverdale Baptist defense and never regained composure in the National Tournament championship at Madison Square Garden. Early foul trouble, 28 team turnovers, and 22.6 percent shooting for the game -- including 18.8 percent from the 3-point line for a team that is typically strong from long range -- doomed the 5A state champions. Junior Shelbee Molen led Fremont with 13 points and seven rebounds, McKenzie Burrows had seven points, and Amanda Wayment totaled five points and seven boards.
