Layton Christian earned a thrilling quarterfinal win thanks to tough defense and Alissa Atisme's free throws with seconds remaining in the game. She then stole the ball as the Moquis tried to make their way down the court to seal the victory. Shayla Simpson and Teneshia Davison led the team offensively before fouling out in the final quarter with 13 points each. Atisme added nine points. The Eagles will play Piute in Friday's semifinal game, while Escalante will take on Duchesne in consolation play. Jaycee Nez led the Moquis with 16 points.
