Shaylee Gleave scored 20 points and Tori Gass chipped in with 12 as Piute pulled away from Duchesne in the fourth quarter for the first round win. Duchesne only trailed by seven entering the fourth quarter, but the T-Birds used a decisive 18-5 run to pull away in the final quarter. Paige Ginn led Duchesne with 15 points, but the Eagles struggled mightily from the free-throw line making just 8 of 25 attempts.
