With the game tied 24-24 early in the fourth quarter, top-ranked Piute ripped off a 17-2 run to dethrone two-time defending champ Rich and advance to the 1A title game. Piute's defensive pressure in the fourth quarter was way too much for Rich to handle, and at the other end, the T-Birds found ways to beat the Rebels' zone defense. Loni Allan had 13 points to lead Piute's balanced attack, while Ashley Argyle had 14 for the defending champs.
