Payson took a 21-11 lead before Mountain Crest mounted a comeback to cut it to 28-26 at the break. f+bJaicee Kuresaf-b led the Mustangs with 14 points in the half and f+bErika Mouritsenf-b added eight. Payson was paced by f+bKeera Crouchf-b and f+bAllie Luntf-b with eight points apiece. The Mustangs burst out of the gates in the third outscoring the Lions 17-4. Kuresa again led the way with eight points in the quarter, finishing with 24 as Mountain Crest held on in the fourth and advances to face Lehi. Mouritsen had 10 points. Lunt led the Lions with 11 points.
