The Tigers jumped out to a quick lead and then held off several Spartan rallies to upset the No. 1 ranked team in the quarterfinals of the 4A state tournament at Salt Lake Community College. Offensively the Tigers were led by f+bLindsie Wilsonf-b, who finished with 18 points and five rebounds. f+bDelyse Downeyf-b, f+bJessica Salibyf-b and f+bJamie Sagersf-b each added eight points. Saliby and Sagers also grabbed nine and eight rebounds, respectively. The Spartans played without starting guard f+bChavalah Washingtonf-b, who suffered a neck injury earlier this week. f+bKeisha Cattenf-b led the scoring for Murray with 10 points, six rebounds and two steals. f+bMelanie Beckf-b added eight points and five rebounds, while f+bMindy Schvaneveldtf-b had seven points and two assists. f+bEva Cisnerosf-b scored seven points, grabbed seven rebounds and earned three assists. The win means Orem will face Timpview in Friday's semi-final round.
