The Layton Lancers move onto the semi-final round of the 5A girls basketball tournament after defeated the Alta Hawks Thursday. Led by senior center Brooke Nelson, who finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. Danielle McDonald added 12 points and Ashley McFarland added another nine points. The Hawks got a huge game from Deanne Hanchett, who finished with 20 points, and Megan Neilson, who added nine points. The Lancers move on to the semi-finals against Skyline at 10 a.m.
