The Kearns Cougars almost clawed their way back into the game against no. 2 ranked Alta, but Jill Cameron matched their offense with four 3- pointers and 17 total points. Teammate Bobbi Tillotson added 11 points, and Deanne Hanchett had four blocked shots. Melissa Bailey led Kearns with 12 points, two of those three-pointers. Rene Apodaca and Brittany Rose added 10 points each. Rose had five blocked shots, and Lisa DeLaMare had three blocks. Point guard Melissa Bailey even had a blocked shot.
