Chelsey Glines and Mali Harrison led the Cougars to a first -round win the 3A girls basketball Tournament at UVSC. Glines had 19 points, and Harrison finished with a game-high 20 points. But it was Glines rebounding and defense and Harrison's ability to run the floor that helped the Cougars overcome a slow start. The Ogden Tigers jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the first quarter, but then Glines took control of the boards and Union's defense began getting some stops. Katie Adams led the Tigers offensively with 16 points, while Emily Draked added 15, all of those in the second-half of the game. The Cougars move on in the winner's bracket where they will play Bear River Friday afternoon. The Tigers face Lehi, which lost to Beaver River in the opening round.
