TAYLORSVILLE - For half a game it looked like a Utah team had found a way to compete with Mountain View. Murray was tied with the Bruins at half-time in the semi-final round of the 4A girls basketball tournament. But then the Bruins held the Spartans to just three third quarter points and Murray couldn't close the gap in the game's final quarter. Murray was led by center Melinda Johnsen and guard Lindsey Arnoldus with 10 and 9 points respectively. Arnoldus had five assists and two steals, while Johnsen had two steals and five rebounds. Mountain View was led by sophomore Mallary Gillespie, who had 13 points, including two 3-point shots. Senior Brittany Tressler added 11 and junior guard Heather Hansen contributed nine points in the Bruins win. Tressler also had 11 rebounds for the game's only double-double. Mountain View will play in the 4A State Championship game Saturday at 11 a.m. against the winner of the Timpview/Bountiful game.
