Game Details - Girls Basketball

TAYLORSVILLE - The Hawks held the Fremont Silverwolves to just two field goals in their first round win of the girls 5A State Tournament at Salt Lake Community College. Alta defeated Fremont 56-23, in a game where 12 players scored points for the no. 2 Hawks. Alta was led by Staci McDonald's 10 points, but it was their tremendous defensive effort that kept Fremont from making anything but freethrows the entire first half. Jena Hales led the Silverwolves with 12 points, and she had the two field goals for Fremont. Alta will play the winner of the Brighton/Skyline game Thursday afternoon in the second round of play.
