Game Details - Girls Basketball

OREM - The Highland Rams ran away with their opening game in an easier than expected win over the scrappy Box Elder Bees. The Rams defeated the Bees 63-52 in the second 4A tournament game of the day at UVSC. Center Melissa Dennett was playing in her first game in two weeks after slightly injuring her left knee two weeks ago. She finished with 20 points, while teammate Jill Thomas added 18 and Kate Burton had 12. Box Elder was led by outside sharp shooter Brittney Crocker, who finished with 16. Teammate Tiffany Shaw added 11 while Chelsea Tyler had nine. The Rams will face Mountain View in the second round of tournament play Tuesday night at Salt Lake Community College.
