Game Details - Girls Basketball

In a nonregion 1A matchup between two teams fighting for respect, the Waterford Ravens (2-5, 4-9) girls basketball team defeated Manila (3-3, 4-9) for the first time in the history of the school. Waterford senior Liz King led the team to victory with 20 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one assist. The Ravens used a swarming defensive scheme through the first three quarters that held Manila to just 18 points. The Mustangs fought back and narrowed the scoring gap in the fourth quarter but the Ravens defense proved to be too much for Manila and Waterford held on to earn their first-ever win over the Mustangs.
