Green Canyon (7-4) edged past Desert Hills (2-8) with a 10-3 victory in the first round of the 4A state playoffs. The Wolves managed to secure a hard-fought defensive win with a go-ahead 8-yard touchdown run by Huston Paremski with 1:56 remaining in the fourth quarter. Desert Hills' only score came from a Hayden Porter 30-yard field goal earlier in the final quarter. Tanner Holt contributed a 24-yard field goal to put Green Canyon on the board in the third quarter. Green Canyon's defense clamped down throughout the game, neutralizing the Desert Hills' offensive efforts. With the win, Green Canyon advances to face third-seeded Snow Canyon on Oct. 31.
