The Roy Royals clinched sole possession of first place in Region 5 with a crucial 26-14 win over the Bountiful RedHawks in Week 9. The Royals took an early lead with touchdowns from DaeQwan Snider and Dru Gardner in the first quarter. Bountiful fought back in the second quarter with a pair of Siaki Fekitoa TD runs cutting the deficit to 17-14 at the half. Roy's defense held Bountiful scoreless in the second half though, and got an important insurance score with a Robert Young 4-yard TD run with 8:58 left in the game. The Royals will now have a chance to clinch the outright Region 5 title with a win over Northridge in Week 10.
