After a scoreless first half, the Wildcats were able to edge out Millard in a defensive battle. The Eagles were closing in on the games first points halfway through the third quarter when JJ Tafatafua intercepted a pass and returned it 86-yards for a touchdown. Millard rebounded and find the end zone, but a few possessions later Stockton Pearson got in the backfield and tackled Millard for a safety, giving Richfield a 9-6 lead and momentum which it carried victory.
