Throughout day one of the 3A state tournament, top seed Ogden hit fast and accurately. The Tigers dominated both its quarterfinal and semifinal, including a 3-0 sweep over Juab for a spot in the 3A state championship. “Everything just came together,” said Ogden head coach Tim Wright. “The work that they've been putting in really was showing up and all of the little things that we've been talking to them really came through and paid off.” Ogden was led by outside hitter Keen Crowther. Crowther finished with 24 kills with a .362 hitting efficiency. It wasn’t just Crowther, James Taukiuvea and Kos Crowther added nine kills each, and Ogden hit .337 as a team. The Tigers played clean all around, including blocks and passing. Saturday’s championship game will be the first for Ogden, despite being close the previous two years. And it plans to make the most of it. “The message to the team is, ‘We're going to show everybody why we got the number one seed and that Ogden is a force to be reckoned with,’” Wright said.
