Jeter Pugh's direct free kick in overtime secured No. 7 Hillcrest's 3-2 victory over No. 2 Pleasant Grove in the 5A state tournament quarterfinals. Pugh's effort added to his two-goal performance, with Carlos Leon also finding the net for Hillcrest. Pleasant Grove's goals came from Maximo Olmos and Sam Clark. Hillcrest will advance to face Maple Mountain in the 5A semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium on Monday.
