In a closely contested game between two Region 9 rivals, Salem Hills High School emerged victorious over Spanish Fork High School with a final score of 3-2. Despite trailing by one goal at halftime, Salem Hills came out strong in the second half and managed to score two goals to secure the win. The first half of the game saw Daniel Leiva score for Spanish Fork while Corbin Harris and Carson Bybee scored for Salem Hills. In the second half, Landon Clark scored for Spanish Fork, but it was Cayden Bowers' goal, assisted by Brooks Barker, that sealed the win for Salem Hills. With this win, Salem Hills finished second in Region 9 with a 6-4 record, while Spanish Fork finished fifth with a 4-6 record. Wasatch High School finished first in the region with a 9-1 record. Salem Hills will now advance to the 5A second round playoffs, where they will face a TBD opponent next week. Spanish Fork, on the other hand, will take on Park City High School in the first round of the 5A playoffs on May 12.
