Layton improved to 7-0-0 with the victory while Viewmont fell to 5-2-0. The Vikings opened the scoring midway through the second half on a goal from Josh Goforth. Ten minutes later, Kyle Christensen scored a free kick to left the score at 1-1. Neither team scored in the second half, setting up Stratford's heroics.
