Nik Roberts scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Gunnison withstood a late push by Richfield to claim the 2A first round victory. Leading the entire game, Gunnison briefly fell behind at 28-27, but closed the third quarter on a 7-0 run to regain the lead. The Bulldogs maintained that lead the entire fourth quarter. Richfield's Brandon Willardson led all scorers with 18 points.
