In a highly anticipated first-round game between two of the best teams in 1A, Bryce Valley buried Duchesne early building a 24-11 halftime lead and increasing it to 39-16 heading into the fourth quarter. Eddie Dunham led the way for the Mustangs with 20 points, with Jake Pearson chipping in with 14. Down 23 to start fourth quarter, Duchesne opened the quarter on a 17-1 run to trim the deficit to 40-33. Even though Bryce Valley struggled from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter making just 9 of 17, it made enough to hold off Duchesne for the big win.
