The Lions rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit to force overtime. Then Timpview needed to go the length of the court with 3.5 seconds left to force a second overtime. In the second extra period, however, the Lions outscored the T-Birds 13-0 to advance to Saturday's 4A state championship game where they'll face the Provo Bulldogs. Jordan Buys was the key guy for Payson, scoring 24 points with eight rebounds and five steals. McKay Massey tallied 17. For Timpview, Andrew Cusick had a big game with 23. Tanner Runia tossed in 10.
