The Silver Wolves jumped out to a 15-point lead at halftime and then hung on to beat Taylorsville in the opening round. Fremont led by as many as 19 in the second half, but Taylorsville closed it to nine with three minutes remaining. Fremont's f+bRyan Sanchezf-b led all scorers with 21 points, while f+bColby Vranesf-b led Taylorsville with 14 points. Vranes picked up four fouls in the first half and never was able to get into the flow of the game. The game got out of hand with 1:48 remaining, when a Taylorsville player punched a Fremont player after a hard foul. The refs quickly got control and the game ended without incident.
