Game Details - Boys Basketball

Trailing by as many as nine points in the fourth quarter, the Region 10 champion Wasps rallied with a 22-8 run in the final seven minutes to post the come-from-behind victory over the Bear River Bears in quarterfinal action of the 3A State boys basketball tournament Thursday morning. Sophomore Darin Mahoney scored a game-high 19 points and junior point guard Josh Cottle added 17 more in leading the Wasps (9-1, 16-7). The Wasps battled back from a five-point halftime deficit to tie the score at 33-33 with three minutes left in the third quarter, but would only score two points the rest of the quarter. Bear River led 45-36 going in the fourth quarter, but couldn�t hold the lead.
