In Game 1 of the 5A Regionals best-of-3 series, No. 22 Roy defeated No. 11 Kearns 12-6 in a late comeback effort. Despite trailing until the sixth, Roy surged ahead with seven runs in the sixth inning and sealed their victory with four more in the seventh. Julian Teran led the Royals with five RBIs, contributing significantly to Roy's 11 hits. Meanwhile, Kearns managed to score three runs in the fifth and seventh innings but couldn't recover from Roy's offensive onslaught. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday.
