No. 2 seed Crimson Cliffs beat No. 3 seed Dixie for the second time in the 4A playoff bracket to move on to the 4A state championship game. The Mustangs beat the Flyers Wednesday night and with Crimson Cliffs already in the losers bracket, Dixie needed to win Thursday's game to move into the finals. Crimson Cliffs started strong in Wednesday's match, but things started a little differently Thursday. The Flyers built a small 2-1 lead after the second inning and used efficient fielding to keep the Mustangs to one run until the fifth inning. It was there that Crimson Cliffs finally took the lead after scoring two runs for a 3-2 lead. The Mustangs held the Flyers off in the final innings while scoring a run of their own for the 4-2 lead and the victory. Petey Soto was the only Mustang with a base hit past first with his double, but teammates Ty West, Brexten Starley, Ty Maynard, and Trey Evans all had an RBI in the win. With the victory, 4A baseball will get a rematch of its 2022 final with Snow Canyon and Crimson Cliffs facing off.
