Trey McDonald drove in two runs with a single to center field to give the Broncos an early lead. Dason Ott hit an RBI double to put Kanab on the board, but the Cowboys could never completely close the gap. Peyton Black, the pitcher who earned the loss to the Cowboys in last year's championship game, was on fire for San Juan, throwing the complete game, striking out 11 and allowing just one run. In the loss, Justin Orton also went the distance and struck out 12 batters. The Broncos will play in the 2A championship game Saturday at 11 a.m. at UVU while Kanab will play today at 4:30 p.m. against Parowan.
