The Thunderbirds ended Wayne's three-year reign as 1A state baseball champions by stunning the Badgers. Tyson Westwood threw a complete game, two-hitter. He also drove in Piute's first run and scored twice. Anthony Hardman hit an RBI double and Kelton Price tripled for the Thunderbirds. Jaylin Christensen drove in a run on a perfectly executed squeeze play. Randy Ellett homered for the Badgers in their defeat.
