Dixie won its first state championship since 1997 behind freshman Chunner Nyberg's complete game and a powerful hitting line-up. Ty Manumaleuna went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a two-RBI double to lead the way. Jimmy Pierson had two hits and three RBIs and Matt Lundin had an RBI and scored four runs.
